Educational Grants |
Dominion
Power supports a wide range of environmental, cultural, community development,
and health and human services efforts through the Dominion Foundation. In the area of education, Dominion accepts
grant applications (up to $10,000) to encourage the development of new programs
to strengthen mathematics and science education in kindergarten through grade
12. Grants are available to public and
private schools, nonprofit agencies, state and local agencies, and higher
education. The Dominion Foundation
awarded $220,000 to 96 schools and educational organizations for the 2006-07
school year.
Grants are
available in the following categories:
o
mini-grants
for any mathematics and science activity (up to $1,000);
o
concentrated
grants in environmental education, increasing parental involvement in
mathematics and/or science education, or raising achievement in mathematics and
science (up to $5,000); and
o
energy education (up to $10,000).
Applications
are now being accepted for Dominion Educational Partnership grants for the
2007-08 school year.
