SUBJECT:	A Collection of Video Clips for Grades 6 and 7 Mathematics Teachers

The Virginia Department of Education is pleased to announce an innovative website for mathematics teachers in grades 6 and 7. Middle School Mathematics: Online Strategies for Teachers is a collection of video clips demonstrating effective strategies and activities for middle school mathematics classrooms.

In each video clip a Virginia mathematics educator demonstrates a strategy or activity using manipulatives, questioning techniques, and problem solving. Resources that can be downloaded are also included.

This website will be available beginning February 5, 2007, at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/middle-math-strategies/.
