Department of Education and Virginia Tech to host Innovate 2007 |
The
Virginia Department of Educations Office of Educational Technology and
Virginia Techs Institute for Connecting Science Research to the Classroom will
host Innovate 2007 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on May 8 from 9
a.m. 5 p.m. The event is
The
anticipated audience for Innovate 2007 will include educational leaders,
educators at all levels, policymakers, community members, and anyone else who
shares an interest in the future of schools.
Major
sponsors of this event include Cisco Systems, Dell, and the Virginia Society
for Technology in Education (VSTE). Invited exhibitors will display both
cutting-edge products available today and innovations currently being developed
in university and corporate research laboratories. Scheduled
exhibitors include VaporStream, an innovative security
software that automatically deletes messages after they have been read, leaving
no trace that the message ever existed; WalkIn Comix, a physically immersive reading environment being
developed by Fuji Xerox Palo Alto Laboratory; and VirtuSphere,
an award-winning virtual environment that immerses students in a 360-degree
globe. Other exhibitors include Microsoft Research, Celestron,
Vantage Learning, identiMetrics, AnthroTronix,
and many others. The event will also provide an opportunity to see the latest
technologies from founding sponsors Cisco Systems and Dell.
