Prevention
Through Information (PTIVA) Data Use
Training Workshops |
In collaboration
with the Center for School-Community Collaboration at
PTI Data Use Workshops will focus on the use of
discipline, crime, and violence data for school- and community-based prevention
program management, including needs assessment, performance measurement,
intervention selection, monitoring, and progress reporting to the public. The workshops will also focus on strategies
for educating key stakeholders and the public about DCV data and engaging them
in prevention efforts.
Also developed as a product of the
PTI-VA initiative is an online tutorial on DCV data reporting that may be accessed
at http://www.dcvreport.org/. School division personnel involved with the
collection and reporting of discipline, crime, and violence data are encouraged
to take advantage of this new resource.
Workshop participants will be expected to have reviewed the online
tutorial before attending workshops.

The workshops are being offered at no charge
to participants. Any lodging and travel expenses will be the responsibility of
the participant. Expenses may be paid
from federal funding already available to the school division under the safe
and drug-free schools program.
