SUBJECT:	Board of Education Adoption List for 6-12 English and Literature, K-12 Mathematics, and Foreign Language Textbooks and Instructional Materials

I am pleased to provide you with the Board of Educations approved lists of 6-12 English and literature, K-12 mathematics, and foreign language textbooks and instructional materials. The Board of Education approved the lists for state adoption at the January 12, 2005, meeting. The Department of Education has made these lists available on its website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/Instruction/mat_review_main.html.

The Department of Education followed the established process for reviewing and recommending textbooks and instructional materials submitted for adoption. The lists, accompanied by profile sheets that provide the information used to determine the recommendations, are provided under the heading, Textbooks and Instructional Materials, 6-12 English and Literature, K-12 Mathematics, and Foreign Language.
