Department of Education is co-sponsoring with Virginia Polytechnic Institute
and State University (VPI & SU) Division of Continuing Education.
The

well as school construction projects in progress in Virginia. A jury will judge the completed projects and
plaques will be presented to the architects and winning schools in four
categories.
The
registration fee includes a banquet on Monday evening, continental breakfast on
Tuesday morning, and lunch on Tuesday.
If you wish to stay at the hotel on Monday night, the conference rate is
$102.00 (single) or $122.00 (double), plus tax.
This years
conference will focus on Making Connections and will address the importance
of involving the community, parents, teachers, administrators, maintenance
personnel, and school boards in the design of school facilities. The keynote address will be given by Ms. Sue
Robertson who is an educational planner and co-author of the Council of
Educational Facility Planners International handbook The CEFPI Guide for
Educational Facility Planning Creating Connections. Her address will be followed by a panel
discussion on the subject. In addition
to Ms. Robertson, the panel will include Steven Bingler, a well-known,
