Transmittal
of Statement of Administrative Impact and Projected Costs of Implementation
for the Proposed Revisions to the Rules Governing General Educational
Development Certificates |
Attached is a
copy of the Revised Revisions Governing General Educational Development
Certificates, as approved by the Board of Education on November 17, 2004.
As part of
its responsibilities for promulgating new regulations or revisions to existing
regulations, the Board of Education is required to develop a statement of the
administrative impact and the projected costs of implementing and complying
with such regulations. The Board and
the Department of Education are required to send a copy of the statement to
each division superintendent. (See
22.1-17 of the Code of Virginia.) The Governors introduced budget contains
$250,000 in additional funding in fiscal year 2006 to offset the difference in
the current fees charged by testing centers and the costs paid to the testing
company for each test. If approved by
the General Assembly, these funds would be available effective July 1, 2005.
