SUBJECT:	Virginia PARTNERS IN EDUCATION One-Day Spring Conference, April 30, 2001

 

The executive board of Virginia Partners in Education has announced the organization’s one-day spring conference to be held at the Higher Education Center in the city of Roanoke on Monday, April 30, 2001, 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Following the conference, the annual meeting and award recognition festivities will take place at Center in the Square in downtown Roanoke from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

This year’s conference will highlight a panel of corporate executives who will share their perspectives on educational partnerships. The conference also will feature information on parent involvement, workshops on linking partnerships to the Standards of Learning and school-based mentoring, and site visits to Roanoke City Magnet Schools.

The conference is open to all educators, parents, policymakers, and community members who are interested in school partnerships.
